Freedom 5k Trail Run & 5k Obstacle Challenge
There are two separate events: a 5K Trail Run and a 5k Obstacle Challenge.
The Race is located at Freedom Florence which trails incorporate the Florence Stockade and the adjoining U.S. National Cemetery. This gives the user an opportunity to quietly consider the struggles and suffering inherent in military conflicts. While the Stockade and National Cemetery came into being during the Civil War, veterans from all wars since that time have been, and are still being, interred here.
A portion of the proceeds go to Muscular Dystrophy Association to recognize a local resident, Daniel Cole, that lives with MD and in memory of Sandy Cottingham. Click here to go to register for this event online.
